PomeMentzas vs Botafogo

This is an absolute flip of a coin. Although PomeMentzas topped their group, they shared points with Inter Miami, while Botafogo shared points with PSG and Atletico. If Botafogo stays true to their defensive identity, I think they can win here.

Benfica vs Chelsea

Chelsea does have a better head to head record against the Portuguese club, but so did Bayern, and Benfica defeated them competitively for the first time in their history. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do it again, but I’m going to back Chelsea.

PSG vs Inter Miami

Maybe Messi can have another moment of brilliance against his former club, but I do think PSG will get a comfortable win here.

Bayern vs Flamengo

This one is not easy to call. Flamengo has played some of the most beautiful football out of all the Brazilian clubs so far in this tournament. I could see the upset, but I’ll stick with Bayern making it to the quarterfinals.

Inter vs Fluminense

Inter, despite going undefeated, still seems to struggle at times to convert chances. Fluminense will be the ultimate test, as they play an incredible defensive game. With Tuda maybe coming back, though, I’ll say Inter have what it takes.

Manchester City vs Al Hilal

This one could be close, but after Manchester City destroyed Juventus, I have to back them here. That fixture, in general, made me lose a lot of confidence in Juventus. I know they didn’t start some of their better players against Manchester City, but against Madrid, I still have to back Los Blancos, especially if Mbappé returns from illness.

Dortmund vs Monterrey

This is where I see an upset. The Mexican club will advance to the quarterfinals.
